DYI Statement Necklace

I love my new necklace. I went into Michael's a few weeks ago and had a field day in there. They have everything a creative person could want! I plan on going back soon becasue I want to make a push pin inspiration board for my office. They have tons of beads and I loved these deep green wooden beads. I also found this pendant there for $2. In total the beads, pendant, string and closures cost me $16,

I've never made a necklace or any kind of jewelry before but I made this in under and hour. I was just so enthusiatic about it! I love the outcome...now just looking for the perfect time to wear it.

What do you all think? Do any of you make your own jewelry???

  2. I do love Michaels! I've made a pair of fish earrings before (or I should say, I just bought the fish and strung the hook through so not sure if that equals making my own jewelry but I was proud of them) :)

  3. You made that??? BEAUTIFUL! What a great job you did. You should sell them.

When I was in college, black choker necklaces were all the rage so my sister and I made some and sold them for 5 dollars each. We found unique pendants for the center. We sold a bunch. I'm not quite as crafty these days!
