City Opera Thrift Shop

So I have been thrift shopping like a true shopaholic and had to take a peek into City Opera Thrift Shop last week when I visited Housing Works Thrfit Shop. They are both fairly close to each other on 23rd St in NYC. City Opera is a really unique thrift shop and I always love their window displays. They have a great selection of clothes but I come here for the shoes and purses.

They also have a pretty amazing sale on their fur coats right now. I only wear faux but these coats were gorgeous.

I had to try these Steve Maddens on!

I love the layout of this shop and how upstairs overlooks the main level. Its a uniquely shaped shop. They also have a great furniture selection and housing goods.

If you are in town and love thifting check out City Opera Thrift Shop. All the proceeds go toward the creation and production of costumes for New York City Opera at Lincoln Center. I'm so excited for my Shop & Swap Event tomorrow. Will post photos soon!

What have you thrifted lately?

Perfect Shorts!

Outfit
Shorts: Sparkle and Fade via Urban Outfitters
Top: Thrifted from Finderz Keepersz Vintage Boutique $10 fashion STEELE!
Cross Body Bag: Thrifted
Earrings: Vintage (thrifted)
Shoes: Jessica Simpson Dany Platform

These are the perfect shorts I have been looking for! I was too excited when I saw them in Urban Outfitters. I actually wanted just plain white ones but I actually really like the stripes. They are a very thick cute crochet material and I love love love them. I must really love them because they were $40. I usually don't spend that much on shorts but I really wanted these. The quality is great and I know they will last a few generations.
My other favorite thing about this outfit is the earrings that I got during my Thrift and the City
shopping tour.
This is also the second time I've worn this vintage top. See it worn differently HERE in one of my first outfit post.
I feel to retro in the high waisted shorts and platforms.
PS. A little secret...these earrings are CLIP ON's..but I had to have them!

What do you all think of high waisted shorts????

Target Tuesdays

Outfit
Jacket: (Can't make out the brand name) Target
Romper: Xhiliration via Target
Cross Body Bag: Vintage Coach
Wedges: Messica Coraline saw them in Shoegasm in NYC as well same price.
Necklace: Modern Tibet got it HERE!!!

So I got most of this outfit from Target...would you believe that!
Target is freaking awesome. I fell in love with this suede jacket the moment I saw it. It's lightweight so perfect for those chilly Spring and Summer nights. Suede in the Spring??? I think so! Especially with this crazy weather NYC has literally been showering us with. But I won't complain because people in the South got it bad. I had to call and make sure my family was ok after all those tornado's.
I finally got to break out these wedges. I think it's the perfect time to wear them. They still cover a majority of my foot so even if its not 65 degrees outside my foot stays pretty warm.
Feels more like I'm wearing booties.
It's FINALLY Spring so I'm dressing for Spring! The weather in NYC was amazing today!

Has anyone else seen the awesome stuff at Target ??? Like those Dolce Vita Wedges???

Army Chic

Outfit
Top: Son of John via Loehmann's (My Lover!)
Jeans: Cello Jeans via Necessary Objects $17 fashion STEELE!!
Pumps: BCBGeneration

When I saw this embellished button up at Loehmman's I double taked. It takes something serious to make me double take. I love the sequin pockets and the gold buttons and patches on the sleeves. It makes me feel so Bad A$$ for some reason. These are my favorite jeans at the moment. I don't wear jeans too often because I feel restricted in them lol, but these are more like leggings.
See them wore differently HERE in one of my first thrifting posts.

It's getting warmer in NYC and I am super excited about it. I can't wait to really bust my legs out. I did a little bit yesterday in my Easter dress, but I mean shorts. I want to wear shorts and short skirts! It's almost May my Birthday Month! I will be doing something special for myself once a week during the month of May to celebrate. Maybe a massage, a pedicure, a shopping treat...ahhhh I can't wait.

Any who have any of you sent off any press kits to major brands?
I just sent off a few and am kinda...eager to know what's next. I wonder if they will even reply...hmmm any thoughts???

So psyched for Gossip Girl and House tonight!

Thrifted Easter Goodies and Contest Winner

Last week I had my first One-On-One Thrift and the City tour..Yay I'm growing! It was pretty awesome and although I convinced myself I wasn't buying anything...I did!
I got two awesome pieces: a lovely champagne colored dress with nice pleated detailing and a vintage jumper (yes its pants not a skirt)!
Total price for both...$22 fashion STEELE!

The tour went rather smoothly and we even had time to stop off at one of my favorite Thai Restaurants for some shopping fuel!

I ended up wearing the thrifted champagne colored dress today for Easter Service at church.

Excuse me, you're BLOCKING my shine

Outfit
Bustier Top: ASOS
Skirt: H&M
Jacket: Ann Taylor..get it HERE it's for sale!
Pumps: BCBGeneration
Belt: Zara

So color blocking is "The It Fashion Thing" right now. I must say that I am digging it. You can basically mismatch and look like you are straight out of an editorial in ELLE.
I thought I'd partake in the madness.
In the first photo I am laughing at this guy watching me get all and i mean ALL my photos taken. He's telling me I'm gorgeous and pose like that and smile and .....How Fing annoying! Ugh. Whelp..what can I expect...I was kinda shinning that day! haha

Do you all think color blocking is here to stay or a trend that will die soon???
