get spiked!

Hello Kiddies! So I'm back from a much needed break and totally forgot to post this post from a few weeks ago. I'm so bummed that it is officially cold in NYC and now I need to buy a Winter coat O_o. Thought I'd break out my favorite vintage skirt one last time before I put her to rest for Winter. The material is waaaaay too thin to wear now. Styled in up with my spiked beauties!

Shoes: Sam Edelman's via Loehmann's
Purse: Vintage Coach via Goodwill $10

I would ususally never pair a very flowy top with a flowy bottom. But I actually like the simplicity of it all.
This color lipstick will be a staple for my Winter wardrobe...I can feel it! So I've been test driving it out a little.

rag & bone

i rounded the corner and BAM...there is was...this gorgeous Rag and Bone batwing shirtdress.

i needed it...i wanted it..i had to have it
a definate Fashion Steele!

i grabbed it and never looked back.

Boots: Vera Wang Lavender

Sunglasses: Ralph Lauren via Loehmann's

i finally got to break out my BCBG leather jacket that I got a few months ago at Nordstroms Rack. I also wore this jacket during my Marie Claire shoot.

i also got to dust off my Vera Wangs too see them worn differently here and here. these are my favorite pair of boots maily because they are so unique and comfortable. let me tell you the difference between a designer shoe and just any old shoe...you PAY for the COMFORT! these are the ONLY boots I have that i can wear ALL DAY without one foot or toe ache lol.

great Fashion Reads

i love a good magazine but i'm starting to buy more and more fashion related books.

I was visiting The Strand in NYC on 12th and Bway and who shall I run into but

Mick Jagger...Yes...I almost peed my pants.

trust me if you want to see celebrities just hang out in that bookstore...everytime I go I see a celebrity.

they like to read too you know!

So I picked up June Ambroses book Effortless Style and an unofficial tale of Anna Wintours Rise to Editor and Chief at Vogue by Jerry Oppenheimer.

I even noticed that June Ambrose signed this copy I bought! SCORE!

I must say that Front Row Anna Wintour is JUICY JUICY JUICY!

I cannot put this book down!

I don't personally know Anna Wintour but I've always wanted to know more about her and how she got to be the Queen B of Fashion and reign over New York City.

Effortless Style is a great go to book about the basics in fashion and was a quick read too.

Taylor Dress: My Showroom Visit

Stark white walls....lined with a silver rack the span of the room.

with nothing but gorgeous dress after gorgeous dress.

all different colors and textures and fabrics and lengths.

I am in Taylor Dress showroom...otherwise known as Dress Heaven

Thanks to Nicole I got to see the dresses up close and personal.

I felt like running through the room and hugging every dress and swirling. lol

The Taylor dress is definitely refined yet fun, alluring yet festive...the dresses all have a certain sophistication yet a playful element.

These are a few that my eye was immediately drawn to.

This was definitely my absolute favorite and it has pockets!

You all know how I feel about dresses and skirts with pockets! The details are so small but really make this dress POP.

I also got to check out some of the documented recent press for Taylor. They are actually going to be in O Magazine Oprah Winfrey's Magazine soon! I was also told that recently Star Jones took over the place swept up in all the amazing dresses!

I even got a sneak peak into production! This was so cool. As customers we often forget what goes into creating an article of clothing especially something as fabulous as a Taylor dress. It was super neat to get to see behind the scenes.

Taylor Dresses are sold mostly in major department stores such as Nordstroms and Loehmann's but you can check them out online Taylor Dress and twitter.

I think the line has done exceptionally well and they are only 4 years old!

this top didn't cost more than $15 from H&M but my good friend Sheena is

in love with it for some reason...she tried to take it but I didn't give it up!

decided to pair this top with these cool harems I also got at H&M. see them worn differently here. so happy i'm finally getting to pull out some of my favorite pants again.
