excuse me for wearing the heck out of the Forever 21 plaid shirt but it has done wonders for my wardrobe. I first wore it tied at the waist and it came in handy that evening when it was a little cold in a Moroccan restaurant I frequent in Harlem. This time though I went bananas and paired it with a blue skirt from ASOS that's one of my favorites!

so apparently summer is over in New York City. its been very mild and im am by no means complaining. I love this type of weather. I'm already thinking about Fall and what summer items I will put away and what summer items will work right up until Winter. For sure this plaid top will be a year round staple. So much so that I plan to take it with me to Paris next month.

my photographer begged and I mean begged me to do a shoot with my Senegalese twist up in a bun. honestly I don't like the way it looks and it takes to long to get it all up. I only ever put a hair tie in it when im working, showering, or sleeping. any other time its always down. but its nice to see what I look like with it buned up. im wearing one of my favorite shirt/jackets from Rachel Roy with a cool skirt from ASOS. BTW this photo is what happens when you start singing Rihanna's song Cake and your photog catches you in the moment. lol.

I love the contrast of colors between the skirt and the top. At first I was wondering what to wear with this skirt and it just came to me. I like the way it turned out. You can see this skirt worn differently here and the jacket worn differently here. What I really need to do is organize my Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer closets. I'm also thinking of redecorating my office space to included lots of shelving for my shoes. If you have any idea's send them my way!

Florals and Flouncy Skirts

Here is another Spring Trends post for you! You can check out the first two of the series HERE and HERE. It seems bright colors and patterns will be a huge hit this Spring. They are already hitting the shelves as stores like H&M and Zara as well as Target! I scored this Prabal Gurung for Target top not too long ago and its still available online. Something about the brightness and pattern scream Spring!

GET THE LOOK

 

For Spring 2013 its all about BRIGHT COLORS! This skirt has easily become one of my favorites. I love the cobalt color. BTW (cobalt is the hot color for Spring)...you heard it here first lol. I will be able to pair just about anything with this skirt including this stripe top or this sweatshirt. I love these Karen Walker sunnies too! Picked them up at the Karen Walker Fall 2013 Fashion Show!
