snake skin

I am obsessed with python print. I searched high and low for the perfect snake skin maxi dress and found this gorgeous one that I wore to Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference in September.
It was a hit! I wanted to add a layer being that its kinda thin so it's appropriate for the Fall weather thats now kicking it up a notch in NYC.

Outfit
Dress: Lovers and Friends
Boots: NYLA via DSW see the rest of my boot collection HERE
Sweater: GAP
Necklace; Thrifted from Housing Works Diesel
Lipstick: Sephora Brand
Purse: Thrifted from Brooklyn Flea Market

I love this cosy sweater from GAP and the best thing is that it turns a summer dress into the perfect Fall ensemble. I really want some python print ballerina flats. I also got to break out my tiny little purse from Brooklyn Flea Market. I plan to visit the market again in a few weeks once they move it inside.

Everyone have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Vintage gone Modern

I fell inlove with this vintage top I got at one of my favorite Harlem Vintage spots
Finderz Keeperz Vintage Boutique. When I saw it I had to have it.

Outfit
Top: Vintage see it HERE!!!! on $10 such a fashion STEELE!
Blazer: H&M
Shorts: Levis
Hosiery: American Apparel
Boots: NYLA Sully Clog

The detailing of this blouse is stunning. It's so delicate but I wanted to modernize it with the current trend I'm loving (shorts with hosiery) and blazers. When I saw this blazer in H&M i snatched it up...mainly because I love the color and because it was only $19.

In Depth Look

I actually wore this outfit a few weeks ago to the Urban Outfitters Around World Designer Showcase.
I wanted to do a more thorough outfit post because this is my favorite vintage skirt. I have had it for so long I forgot where I got it from lol. I love the scalloped pattern and the silky feel of it.

I paired is with this snakeskin clutch and one of my favorite vintage sweaters from

This top is actually a body suit from American Apparel and its one of my favorite pieces of clothing. I also have it in black! The back of it is what drew me in. The deep scoop!

I am so ready for Spring. This outfit is right in line with my Winter to Spring change over. I still have everything covered from the wind and cold breezes but still a little skin to usher in Spring. I was going through my closet the other day and it is OUT OF CONTROL! I have to do my Spring cleaning because my closet is stuffed lol.

Southern Comfort

I'm super excited because yesterday I woke up in New York City...but this morning I woke up in North Carolina..and it feels damned good to be home. First stop was Bojangles...LOL. If you don't know what Bojangles is, it's a chicken fast food restuarant thats practically non existent in New York. They have the most delicious chicken and sweet tea. Speaking of sweet tea..hot diggity damn I must have been away a long time because the sugar in that tea almost killed me but I drank it and proceeded to urination station atleast 5 times during the night...ahhhhh it's good to be home.
Outfit
Top: H&M I wear this top so much lol see it worn differently HERE!!!!
Shorts: Thirfted vintage
Tights: American Apparel
Jacket: BCBGeneration via Nordstroms Rack
Boots: NYLA Sully Clog
Sunglasses: D&G..see them HERE!!!!
Bag: Thift..check out my store (its for sale HERE!!!!!)
This was my outfit for the day. In the morning it was a little breezy but I quickly had to take off this jacket and tights when the weather hit 70 degrees. I love this great new cropped jacket by BCBG with enormo shoulder pads that I can see out of the corner of my eyes when I wear it. It was such a fashion STEELE! Got it at my favorite spot Nordstroms Rack! I'm loving the weather here. Tonight I'm attending my Grandma's 60th Birthday...and can you guess which dress I will wear??? Stay tuned!

So what is your favorite comfort food?????

Black Velvet Sunshine

I was thifting a few days ago at the Salvation Army on 125th St in Harlem (During my lunch break...I know I know I'm a thriftaholic) when I came across this lovely pale yellow A-Line Skirt. I fell in love with it. I got it for only $4...Fashion STEELE! I've been really into maxi skirts or ankle length skirts lately with either fitted blazers or oversized sweaters. The combination is perfect for those balmy days in later Winter/early Spring.

Got this great silver bangle from an African Shop on 125th St. See more of my finds from that shop HERE!!!!

Got this little bag as well the same time I got this skirt. Its so dainty but can fit a lot inside it!
Only $3!!!!

 Outfit
Blazer: Lovely Day via Necessary Objects
Velvet Tank Top: Cope via Urban Outfitters
Skirt: Thrifted
Bag: Thifted
Earrings: Urban Outffiters
Shoes: NYLA Sully Clog via DSW
I have been thrifting up a storm lately. I really need to stop. This velvet top I got the other day while at Urban Outfitters at the Around The World Designer Showcase. It was on sale and 30% off so I only paid $6 for it! Total for the top, skirt and bag is a whooping $13! Of Course I then went and got these feather earrings from Urban as well!

I was a little apprehensive about wearing velvet so late in the Winter. But it works with this bright yellow.
What do you all think about wearing velvet in the warmer months of Spring and Summer???
