MAY Birthday SHOES

So I actually managed to buy 5 pairs of shoes this month.

Wow. My name is Monroe Steele and I am a shoe-aholic.

well in all fairness it was my birthday gift to myself.

Thanks again May for having 5 weeks.

I must say I'm simply thrilled with my new additions. The L.A.M.B., Vince Camuto's and Michael Kors sling backs all came from Loehmanns so I definitely didn't pay full price for any of them. I picked up the neon H&M sandals while in Barcelona and Zara basic sandals that everyone has...I finally have thanks to a 4am email alert.

now...i must plan many an outfit around all of these beauts.

military inspired

with Fleet Week as my inspiration when i was putting this outfit together I knew exactly what I wanted...tough yet dainty.

I love the structure of the top and that its crisp and defined paired with the softness of the

 sheer pleated shorts. I think the combination worked out well for a great overall look.

this top is one of my favorites. I keep finding new ways to wear it. i've also being itching to wear these shorts again...finally its hot enough to wear shorts and my new Michael Kors Slingbacks.

I've definitely gotten more into pointy toed shoes. they died out for about half a second and then BAM were super popular again. I've also noticed that designers are into making chunky shorter heels now. I'm not really into that trend at all. The higher the heel the better but I have noticed I have more and more heels under 4 inches which is short for me. lol. I like to feel like a giant when I'm in the room and most times I can see clear over everyones head. lol. somehow I managed to get off topic...anywho..presto..this is the outfit of the day! military inspired tops and vest are making a huge comeback this summer and I like it!

ps..i wearing very tiny biker shorts underneath to keep the world from seeing my bum.

Celebration at Arrojo/ Fashion Week Giveaway

So remember back when I got my haircut at Arrojo and my makeup done? If not check out this post HERE!

Well it was for a special series of photographs of influencial New Yorkers. I was featured along with a handful of other NYC area bloggers and social media experts!

I had a mini photoshoot with an amazing photographer David Ducane.

The photos were released last night at the 10th Anniversary Party at Arrojo Salon.

This was the final picture that was chosen for the wall. I was so excited to finally see it!

Here are a few extras. It started to rain while we were shooting. lol. It never fails that when I get my hair done..it rains lol.

The party was amazing. I had a really great time mingling and dancing. The DJ was FIRE! At some point Nick Arrojo (best known for doing hair on the show What Not To Wear) was backing that "thing" up on me (While the song Back that thing us was playing!). I didn't know he was such a great dancer!

And ofcourse I won something. A body gift set from Arrojo. I swear I can win just about anything except the lottery!

I feel very honored to have been one of the people chosen to be featured and in honor of this as well as my favorite holiday FASHION WEEK, I am doing a giveaway of an amazing bracelet exactly like the one I'm wearing in my Arrojo photo.
