another thrift day in Brooklyn

it was a bright and sunny 75 degree Sunday.
It was the perfect day for a thrifting adventure in Williamsburg Brooklyn.
As soon as I hopped off the L train at Bedford I ran directly into a few sidewalk sellers and got the most amazing vintage paisely dress for $15. Damn..I love Brooklyn.
I spent 5 hours hitting vintage shops on 7th Street and walked down to the water for the Brooklyn Flea Market and ended my trip with a browse through Beacons Closet before returning to the city.
Cross Roads has a really great sellection of dresses and shoes!
If you want vintage Artists and Fleas is where you need to be. It is chalk full of vintage dresses. I spent about an hour in here alone trying on floral dresses and jumpers one after the other.
The prices arent very friendly though. Most vendors price everything about 15-25 dollars over what I'd pay but you can always negotiate.
the floral sweet heart vintage dress.... she didnt fit :-(
I ended up buying 2 pair of sunglasses and a vintage dress.
I really had to hold back because I saw so many awesome things. Check out my last two trips to the Brooklyn Flea Market videos HERE and HERE.

this is one of the skirts I wore during New York Fashion Week. I love it. I foresee me wearing it ALOT in the very near future. this sheer sleeved top was an awesome find from The Vintage Twin trunk show that I attended last year. I've gotten so many great things. I'll be sure to keep you in the loop for the next one. I am also on a serious floral skirt spree right now.
If you are looking for a great floral midi skirt try this one or this one.

Vintage Vixen

Outfit
Top: ASOS...Run and get it Suspender Corset Top!
Skirt: Thrifted
Purse: Thrifted
Wire Twist Headband: American Apparel

I was recently featured at Goodwill Huntingg thrift challenge. It was my first guest post and I am still super stoked about it. I wanted to share the photos with you because these are actually the first photos I've taken on my blog that I have manipulated. I did something with the color to make it look more vintage. I really like the outcome. I will definitely start playing with photo manipulation a little more. This skirt has only one pocket! But I love it to pieces. It is one of my favorite paisely skirts, Check out the other one HERE!
Please excuse me if you see lots of outfit post rocking my Jessica Simpson Dany Platforms. They just work so well with any outfit and are super comfortable. They also add a wow factor and I get ALOT of stares and people saying wow how do you walk in those...and its pretty fun just walking around New York in them. Given I almost fell into a pot hole but that was my fault for tweeting while walking.

Have you ever tripped or falling because of talking on the phone or texting?
Once...I fell down a bunch of stairs at a concert. There was like 3 people trying to help me up.
It was pretty funny but at the time my ankle really hurt.
What do you all think of photo manipulation?

The Hills are Alive

With the "Sound of Music". That is one of my favorite movies. I love when Julie Andrews "Maria" sings this song while on top of towering lushious green hills. Well my hill isn't a hill at all..its actually pretty flat but I sure felt like "Maria" twirling around in this very full skirt. These photos were taken this past weekend when the weather in NYC was actually pretty nice.

Outfit
Skirt: Thrifted at Valley Thrift Shop along with an awesome dress I wore for A Special Occasion. This skirt was only $3..I mean come on..fashion STEELE!!!
Crop Ribbed Top: H&M... see it worn differently HERE!!!!!
Earrings: Jewelry Plaze NYC
Ring: Forever 21
Shoes: Jessican Simpson Dany Platforms..see them differently HERE!!!

I am a lover of full skirts and vintage ankle length skirts. When I discovered this skirt I was super duper excited. I've always wanted a long full skirt in this exact color. The thrift Gods must really love me...lol. It's getting a tad bit warmer in NYC which is awesome but still breezy so I love that this skirt is actually quite heavy and thick.

I'm trying to be more excited when posing for photos..lol. I hope I am doing a good job. I've just started jumping lol. It's very hard to jump and not look crazy. What do you all think?

XOXO
