Marni without the price tag

so i totally missed out on the Marni for H&M celebration as well as the Lanvin for H&M event.

why can't they do these unveilings when people are not at work?

i mean come on folks! my boss is not going for "oh...i need thursday off because I need to stand in line to hopefully buy a dress that i will fight 8 women to the death for".

but i digress.

i was perusing the Sheinside.com website and came across this dress

which is eerily similar to Marni. but a whole lot less!

MAC Lipstick: Morange

So I finally am test driving my Morange MAC lipstick. I have actually worn it a few times. One thing I can say is it that I get tons of looks. Most of them are faces of "Ohh that lipstick is super bright", others are more like OhhLaaLaa and others are like "WTF...this chick is nuts". I love it though. I must admit with my darker skin tone the morange really POPS. Which is why when I wear it I usually wear muted colors such as beige or soft green.

I took a little walk in the park over by my house. The foliage is so lush green and looks amazing. I love Spring...well technically its summer now but its fairly cool today and now raining in NYC. I have so much going on with my blog and the NYC Fashion Bloggers Meetup Group. I have some really aweseom things coming up so I will be glad when I can share them with you.

The color of this jacket is what attracted me to it. I knew it'd be a smart buy...this baby will last forever and never go out of style. I got to wear my new nerdy glasses today. A lot of people have been wearing these lately. Hey..I'm pretty smart without these glasses though haha.

 I got my Doctorate in Physical Therapy at 25. Wrote for my college newspaper (features), a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority (Skee-Wee), and never had an average below 3.4. I must say I am pretty smart but don't want to toot my own horn.

The problem I have is money...I spend it on shoes but justify it buy doing a lot of Thrift shopping.

I have made a conscious decision to buy smarter, which for me means:

1). No impluse buys, I have to want it for atleast a month

2). Only spending what I have..no Credit Card purchases

3). Only buying things with great quality that I know will last and that I'd wear atleast 3x monthly.

It's seems I have revamped my entire wardrobe in just one year.

Now I have to have another swap to rid myself of the "leftovers"...September it will be!

P.S. I'm blogging from my phone because my computer wont start!!!!! Yikes. Hope Geek Squad can fix it.

Also I had a great birthday. Pictures to come soon and thanks again for all the wishes. Sorry to my regulars that I usually check and comment on...wont get my comp back for 3-5days but im still reading them..on my phone..haha.

Mango Mayhem: How I do an outfit post

For those of us who don't have boyfriends as photographers (oh how I wish...) we usually have to rely on friend's, family, the timer on our camera's and ourselves. I've used all three as well as a hired photographer. 

Today I thought I'd do something awesome and make a quick video of what all goes into my photo posts. It's definitely not as easy as it looks. I hope you all enjoy the video, it includes some of my makeup tips, how and where I shoot my photos and how it all gets put together.

So this is the outfit I wore to the Nathaniel Paul Holiday Collection Event. I posted a few pictures but I wanted an in-depth look. When I saw this skirt at Mango during the

 Mango & Marie Claire Night of Style in NYC 

I almost died. I had to have it and thankfully it was 30% off! I scooped up this necklace as well which I used during the Mango Styling Contest that was judged by Zanna Roberts Rassi, Senior Fashion Editor of

Marie Claire.

I really had a lot of fun putting this video together. I hope it gives you all a little more insight into who I am and also how I tackle the issue of outfit post without a boyfriend or tripod. Haha.

I was thrilled to snatch these TopShop wedges up especially since they were originally $175 while at the TopShop 214 Magazine Release Writer/Blogger Event. They feel like I'm walking on clouds. Spring Awakening
