NYFW Spring 2013 Day 5

Today's outfit was basically my fashion power suit: pencil skirt, blazer, heels. but this aint your average suit so I threw in some floral prints and fur for good measure.

Skirt: Patrizia Pepe via Loehmanns | Top: H&M | Blazer: Workshop Andrea Jovine
Shoes: Gianvito Rossi | Bag: Zara
wow today was insanely busy. my feet are KILLING ME and they are swollen on the bottom. i love love love fashion week but it is brutal. i was literally running from show to show being that I had one just about every hour. i am super amped that i was snapped by Guerre for Marie Claire online. Guerre is one of my favorite photogs and he is SEXY! my god thats a handsome well dressed man. but i digress. lets get to the goods. Shout out to Jen of Comme Coco for these amaze photos.
Today's Schedule
Joy Cioci
Carlos Miele
Farah Angsana
Karen Walker
Alice & Olivia
Libertine

Joy Cioci was one of my favorite collections. I love the whole beachy vibe, sounds of the ocean, prints and d styling of the models...down to the awesome extra sharp finger nails. The head wraps are pretty hawt too. Check out the VIDEO of the full collection HERE.

Carlos Miele did was he does best and thats creative free flowing gorgeous dresses. He used a  lot of cheetah print on bright pops of color as well as fringe. My favorite dress was actually a white sparkly number with fringe around the bottom!

Farah Angsana....dresses are her thing. There is definitely something for everyone in her collection. My favorites were the beaded dresses in orange, black and green. I see a lot of designers are going orange for the SS2013 season.

Karen Walker went polka dots, with lovely skirts and bangy hair and hats. I loved all of the looks even the polka dots! The collection was fun yet sophisticated. I loved the trapeze shaped tops and the neon pink slear sunnies too. Hands down one of my favorite shows.

I am a huge fan of Alice + Olivia so getting to attend this presentation was awesome. i loved the prints and shapes and the retro feel the collection gives off. very old school glam with headbands and gloves. Check out the full video of the presentation HERE.

Libertine was a fun festive collection. It's all looked pretty mixed vintage to me as far as the womens clothing went. I do like some elements and could certainly see some people wearing the pieces together like they were styled. personally I think they'd be more of a wow factor split up with simplier pieces so that they pop.

Fashion Week feels like HOME

i just dont undertand how the mavericks of fashion do it....going to 20+ shows during fashion week in sky high heels. I've only been covering for 3 days and although I love it with all my heart...
my feet hate me right now.
i swear my feet said "Oh Hell No...are you really squeezing me into a pointy toed pump?!?"
But I digress...fashion week so far has been dream like. When I am surrounded by so many people who are really passionate about fashion just as I am it makes me feel at home.
Today I went bright in the vintage DVF jumper that I scored on ebay for $25 fashion STEELE!

Jumper: Vintage DVF | Cape: Eileen Fisher | Shoes: YSL Opyum
Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs | Necklace: Aldo get a similar one here

LINE UP
Lela Rose
Joy Cioci

Today was a quiet show day. Not too many show but I thoroughly enjoyed both shows today.
Lela Rose kicked off with retro upswept hair and delicate statement neclaces with and array of dresses and patterns. My favorites were the form fitting bodice dresses that hit just at the knee and the gorgeous form fitting mermaid type dresses. I loved Lela Rose Spring 2012 collection and this collection was also chic and glamourous.
Check out this video of the show closing.
Lela Rose Fall 2012

Front Row at Lela Rose

Next up was Joy Cioci. I am a huge fan of Joy Cioci and her unique designs. Her aesthetic is youthful and fun and sophisticated all at once. I was greeted with champagne and before I even rounded the corner to view the models..my ears heard one of my FAVORITE songs..
Midnight City M83.
That's when I knew me and Joy Cioci are kindred spirits. But it was kinda freaky when the next song was A Real Hero from Drive Soundtrack and I have these 2 songs in the exact order on my ipod.
But lets get to the clothes! Joy brought it last season and again this season with sharp nails, lacy socks and amazing furs and leathers.
Here are a few favorites. Check out my NYFW link to see a video of the show!
Love the sideswept braid and the pop of color on this blouse.

It's all in the details....the sharp nails, the just off the knuckle gloves and the large lacey sheer socks!
I LOVE IT!

Joy Cioci really wowed me with her collection and her choice of music!

What do you think of these collections?

The PAPS snapping photos left and right. The extravagant outfits and decadent shoes! NICOLE MILLER
I'm not going to lie, I've always considered Nicole Miller more of an evening wear kind of designer. I've seen some of her newer street wear which has more appeal to me but her show BLEW ME AWAY! This is something so new and fresh from her and I LOVED IT.

Yes to these shorts! Check out Nicole Miller.

Joy Cioci
This collection was very girly. Lots of laser cut outs, very form flattering, lots of floral details. BRIGHT YELLOWS! I love yellow so to see it so much in her collection was a delight.
P.S. her models were rocking it!

There are definitely more than a few pieces I'd love to have!
