legs...legs...legs

I get a lot of compliments on my legs. Especially on instagram. I also get tons and I mean tons of questions asking about my exercise routine. the honest truth is i rarely exercise. as an exercise professional (i have a doctorate in physical therapy) I rarely practice what I preach. I do run on occasion (along riverbank state park is the best) but only when im angry to burn off steam. I do a lot of lifting and exercise during work just working other people out. I also walk about 5 miles daily all over Manhattan. I do live on a 5th floor walk up as well so maybe that has something to do with it. Other than that...I wear very high heels and that in itself is a leg workout!

black skinny jeans

something about black skinny jeans just screams "Im A Rockstar!'' to me.

i've have the jeans for some and rarely wear them but today i was feeling like a badass and decided to take them out for a spin. i added my favorite cross print tee from Forever 21 and a top hat from top shop. once again super amped that its cool enough for hats...but me no likey sweaters.

i just went through my winter clothing and donated about 75% of my sweaters because they were so ravaged from the past 2 winters. i will definitely be going top shopping soon or i will freeze to death in winter. lol.

GET THE LOOK

all black with a pop of red in the booties! these are seriously my favorite boots and im so glad i stepped outside my comfort zone of hardly ever wearing red and buying these boots. i always get questions about this denim jacket. i got it like 3 years ago at H&M. I've had it so long but i've never ever washed it..lol. i find that the stains and the dirt really make it look broken in and vintage. it also fits me perfectly and i think washing it would destroy all the charm of it.

DVF

i have always been a huge DVF fan although i am just now at the point in my life where I can afford some of her lovely printed pieces. mainly thanks to Nordstroms Rack!

i currently own a pair of DVF wedges i picked up there as well as a top (that you'll see during fashion week) and this lovely romper. all bought at Nordstroms Rack for atleast 50% off of the regular price.

i was sold when i saw that this romper not only had pockets but slits on both sides that you wouldn't even notice unless the wind blows. i love the bright primary blue and thought that pairing it with my canarie yellow pumps from atleast 8 years ago would be the perfect combination. ps...i got this for less than $80 it was originally $495...fashion STEELE!

leather, pleats, chiffon & studs

the title says everything. take total opposites and throw them together to create a weird juxtaposition of outfit greatness. here is another awesometastic dress from Taylor Dresses that I picked up at Caravan Studio. I was immediately drawn in by the lace, leather and pleats. it's badass without being overly in yo face badass. which is why i love it. there is still something sweet about it...

it's the lace, even if it is black.

can we take a moment to admire the double skull head bracelet???? it is now my favorite peice of jewelry next to my skull ring and side cross necklace. the lovely Marti of Marti Company gave me this awesome bracelet while i viewed her collection at Caravan Studio. Marti makes not only amazing clothing like this fab sequin dress i tried on but stunning jewelry as well.

theres a whole lot going on with this outfit and thats just how i like it!

we broke up over these shoes

lets face it, there comes a time in a relationship when you are first dating someone where you have to choose to either take it to the next level or move on.

i was once dating this very fine guy.

6'2'', facial hair (i have a thing for facial hair), and the queen's english accent (an island boy).

damn that accent.

anywho...i got these amazing Top Shop chiffon wedges after my first Fashion Night Out and was ready to break them in on a date with my then beau.

so back to the story...I show up with these on, skin tight jeans and my American Apparel 3D Mesh top...basically THIS OUTFIT from one of my very first outfit post. i was fabulous...i know because atleast 7 women stopped me on my way to the movie theatre to say...I was fabulous.

 so the movie was aweful and he fell asleep during the movie O_o.

then on our way out he looks down and smirks and then scoffs and then laughs.

i looked down expecting to see something that was funny but saw nothing but my gawjus shoes.

he then proceeds to mock my shoes.

yes...mock them.

and i thought to myself..."don't...don't mock the shoes" in my Carrie Bradshaw voice in my head.

Men just don't get it sometimes.

i called him that very night and ended things.

here lies Monroe. She had 2 great loves...and lot's of shoes!

a little romper

continuing with the what to wear series...enter the romper. its perfect for a day date. you know...a walk through the park, coffee, a matinee show. its less dressy than the normal date dress but still casual and sexy in its own way. this is one of my favorite rompers from Top Shop. the last time I wore it was last year during New York Fashion Week.

the sleeves on this romper is what got me. that are like wings but slit down the middle. i paired it with my fav black strappy sandals {see them worn differently here and here) and my silver Sequoia handbag. this romper would definitely work for a day date!
