!!!!!Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference!!!!!!!!

I'm off to the IFB Conference today at MAC & Milk Studios. I am on my way there now...gotta be there at 7 am because I'm volunteering. Just wanted to quickly show you all what I'm wearing today to the Conference. I will be updating this post throughout the day with photos and videos so keep checking back in! Ahhhhhh NEW YORK FASHION WEEK!

Outfit
Dress: Lovers and Friends via Urban Outfitters or a shorter version HERE
Necklace: Thrifted see it worn differently HERE
Rings: Assorted

The Conference
The conference was amazing. I got to see a lot of bloggers I havent seen since last IFB Conference in February. I also got to meet some fabulous bloggers I've been following via twitter and through their blogs. It's always nice to meet someone you feel like you are already friends with thanks to social media.
Check out the video I made of awesome outfits and get the overall feel of the conference.
It was definitely a room of very fashion forward people!
There were 4 panels with various bloggers and media experts such as Leandra from Man Repeller, Sammy Davis of Sammy Davis Vintage, Yuli Ziv author of "Blogging Your Way to the Front Row", Coco Rocha, Ari Seth Cohen and lastly Joe Zee creative director of Elle Magazine.

The best information cam from Ari Goldberg CEO of Style Caster Media Group hands down. He gave us the low down on how to go about monetizing our blogs and stressed that bloggers need to be more business savvy. Bloggers need to learn more about advertising and how it works.

Listen to what Joe Zee had to say about social media HERE!

monroe's work out plan

thats right put in work, eat that salad no dessert...WHAT no dessert???efff that!
A lot of you have been asking about my workout regime so I put together a little outfit post to show how I keep in shape. To start off I take a lot of outfit pictures standing on one leg in high heels to increase my calf strength and balance. hehe
Notice my MAC & Milk T-Shirt from my first ever IFB Conference. So stoked for IFB next month..blogger extravaganza!
I drink mostly water. I gave soda up for lent and just kinda never really drank it again. I find that drinking it out of a wine glass makes it taste better. It's also helped a lot with my acne. Yes I have acne..and I dont photoshop my pimples out either. lol.

The only real exercise I do is on my Wii Fit and my favorite is the hoola hoop game. It really gets those abs tight and works out your legs too! If you don't have Wii just get a hoola hop!

Theres that one leg stance again..while washing dishes...lol.
I balance huge september magazine issues on my head while walking in 5 inch heels. I also lift them up and down to build up my biceps. no flappy arms for me!

Next up I live in a 5th Floor Walkup. So I get a workout for my legs atleast twice a day.

Lastly, I do not deprive myself. I eat cookies, ice cream and cake all the time. Sometimes for dinner.

No but really I don't exercise other than my Wii Fit. I do a lot of lifting and walking for work which is why my arms are so buff. I actually try not to do too much lifting because I dont want them to get too buff (gross).
I'm sure at some point I will have to start exercising for real...but until then I'm relying on my good genes and high metabolism.

Loehmanns and Levis

I got this awesome blazer from Loehmanns a little while ago. I love it. The neutral color lets me wear it with just about anything, but it looks better with a bold pop of color!
These are a pair of earrings that I got here at the African Shop.

Outfit
Top: Kenar via Marshalls
Blazer: BB Dakota via Loehmanns
Jeans: Levis Curve Jeans Gifted from Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference
Pumps: BCBGeneration
Earrings: African Shop
Clutch: Jessica McClintock

Loehmanns is my new boyfriend. He provides me with chic BCBGeneration cute purses (see here!!!), BB Dakota Blazers, studded tops and Ray Ban sunglasses (which I haven't gotten yet but will soon). Oh Loehmanns you have been good to me. The Levis Curve jeans are awesome. I had a great experience at the Levis Store on 14th St. The jeans fit me like a glove! Thanks IFB Conference! I now have a Holy Trinity of Department Stores: Marshalls, Nordstrom Rack and Loehmanns. Welcome to the club Loehmanns. You may just be my new favorite.

And who says bloggers dont know about fashion???

I attended the IFB Conference yesterday and I'm still hyped from all the action. It was a sea of "sky high fall to your death" platforms, vintage sequins, flowing maxis, hats of every size and shape, dazzling bobble cocktail rings, drool worthy vintage belts and awing ensembles. I couldn't get my mind around being surrounded by such fashion. I literally sat in my seat and just absorbed the frenzy of chatter, the quick zig zagging of thumbs on iphones, the clicking of stilettos and the flashing from the camera's. It was kind of surreal to be surrounded by what I always wanted to be a part of.
She was so nice and sweet and her ensemble was F'ing ridiculous and pretty much the best in the house in my opinion. Love her hand made necklace too!

He called me his wife before I even knew him lol. Super cool guy with great fashion style. His name is Curran and you can check him out at Kings Rule Together.

Amazing colors!
She actually won the ticket to the IFB Conference! And she worked hard for it too. Everytime I looked up she was networking, moving and shaking. She earned those tickets and looked fab while doing so in this vintage thrifted sequin top.

Nubia Mejia from Nubia Nonsense
There was also a lot of cool venues in the building such as Levis with their Shape What's To Come promotion. I was measured for my perfect jean and got a ticket for a free pair...who's pysched...ME! Shopbop.com was also there and had a great Best Dressed Blogger Contest. Lordy Lordy Lord I hope I won!  Aldo was also there showing some hot shoes.

Here are some photos of the general atmosphere of the IFB Conference in full swing

Later we made our way to the Chelsea Room for a very chill party. The open bar was also pretty awesome even though I only had coke. Hey I had to be to work this morning at 8 a.m.! I'm responsible lol!

Got to meet Rai Jean from Swa-Rai and Sahra from Effortless Cool.
These fashionistas were so cool. We had to hop in a cab and get over to the Chelsea Room because it was just "too damn cold" to stand outside waiting for that shuttle bus!

NYC Bloggers Unite! LOL
Me, Sahra and Vanil from The Vintage Devil
These two were my unofficial possey for the evening at Chelsea Room.

Overall...I had an AMAZING time and can't wait for the next conference because I will be there with bells on and sequins and whatever else I can fit into one outfit! The networking was just out of this stratosphere. It was a real treat. For those who didn't get to go I hope you got some sense of what it was like through my photos and content. I will be posting later about the awesometastic gift bags too! So Stayed tuned darlings! For now I'm off to another Fashion Week Event at the W Hotel. Stayed tuned for photos. Oh and I had a major vintage fashion STEELE today...sneak peek tomorrow!
