Fashionable Fridays/Giveaway

This past Friday I attended Fashionable Fridays Event at Arrojo Salon.
This event was put together by Women's Mafia as well as the NYC Fashion Bloggers Meetup Group.
It was an event to remember with Arrojo Hair and Makeup Stations, an eyelash station, a presentation by Jewelry Designer J. Rudy Lewis, a reading from Lora Condon of her book Spa Wars and not to mention every bloggers dream....a POP-UP Studio for photos!

I was able to get my eyelashes done by The Lash Doctor Lora Condon who also wrote the book Spa Wars The Ugly Truth about The Beauty Industry. I must say I am in love with my lashes. They look so natural.
I was immediately drawn to J. Rudy Lewis Jewelry. Mr. Lewis handmakes his pieces using metals and leathers and even pearls. The mixture of these raw elements create a beautiful eyecatching work of art. I was lucky enough to take one home with me which I immediately fell in love with.

Lora Cordon signing copies of Spa Wars for us after her very funny reading! If you want the insid scoop on what really goes down in the beauty industry you have to get yourself a copy!

It was such an honor to get to meet Nick Arrojo. He was super sweet. I also got my hair trimmed by Nicks's apprentice Emily Carroll.
The POP-UP Studio was too much fun! We all had a blast taking photos.

Bob Mackie is a legendary fashion and costume designer who just launched the first series of his fashion and costume illustrations.
The illustrations are all so unique and inspiring.

Rebecca Minkoff Resort 2012 Presentation

(All Photos Courtesy of RebeccaMinkoff.com)
Last week I had the awesome opportunity to attend the Rebecca Minkoff Resort 2012 Presenation.
It was definitely the highlight of my week even with the teranchal rain.
Rebecca Minkoff is a true genius. Her designs are amazing and the perfect mix of "Pretty Edgy".
You know how I feel about things being too girlie. A little edge goes along way and she totally captured this is her Resort 2012 presentation.
I missed the presentation but got an awesome walk-through with detailed information about the collections.

The inspiration for the collection was St. Tropez, France circa 1970's.
Now thats some serious inspiration!
The Bags:
Rebecca's use of snake print/skin, spikes and soft color blocking spoke to me. I also loved her use of Rose Gold Colored hardware on a few of her bags as well. Rose Gold is the new silver!
These were some of my favorites from the presentation.

How brilliant is this?!? I know I couldn't contain my drool either!

The Shoes:
I have a serious shoe addiction and will buy shoes before groceries so I had to include these maneaters.

I can just see myself walking down 5th Ave turning every head in these pairs of shoes!

The Jackets:
You all know my love for blazers and jackets and Rebecca Minkoff really brought that fire! I double taked and almost passed out when I saw this black suede laser cutout jacket. OMG! I heard this collection doesn't drop until November...so be on the lookout in October because this will sell out quicker than you can say..."They Sold Out!"

I need this jacket in my life and the bag too!
Many members of the NYC Fashion Bloggers Meetup Group were also in attendance.

Rebecca Minkoff glowing and stunning and all around awesome.
I wish I had gotten the chance to meet her.
Darn 9-7!
 Outfit
Cami: Forever 21
Linen Blazer: H&M
Shorts: Dolce Vite
Shoes: Sam Edelman Javi
Necklace: ALDO
Bag: Vintage Coach

The overall collection gets and A+ in my book. I wanted so much of it. The price points are affordable, the bags are gorgeous and made to last forever. All of her pieces are timeless and will never be the type to go out of style. I love her use of spikes and colored hardware and the overall asthetic of her bags. Check out more of her bags at www.rebeccaminkoff.com. There is also an online sale happening right now...hurry it ends June 17th and check out my sidebar for the Rebecca Minkoff  Mintbox access!
Also check out Rebecca's blog at www.minkette.com.

What do you think of the collection and whats your favorite piece?
