Hidden Serenity

Outfit
Top: Patterson J. Kincaid via Nordstroms Rack
Skirt: H&M
Shoes: Steve Madden via Nordstroms see them HERE!!!!
Earrings: Thrifted during my first Thrift and the City shopping tour.

Finally got to wear the Steve Madden Platforms my mom got me for my birthday. They are super comfortable. This is one of my favorite new shirts. I love the baggy front pockets and the fell of it. It's so comfortable. I paired it with one of my favorite skirts from H&M. See it worn differently HERE!
While look for places to shoot these photos I cam across this neglected courtyard to an apartment building.
It was so overgrown but i loved the trees and the cobblestone and the ingrown weeds. It was very serene and quiet.
I wondered why the management had let is get into such a state. I plan to go back there and take more photos.

Have you ever come across a hidden place????

Retro Romper

Outfit
Romper: Royal Love via Nordstroms Rack $15 fashion STEELE!!!!
Shoes: Jessica Simpson see them here and here.
Sunglasses: Unknown

The look of this polka dot romper is very retro to me. I love the large cup pleats of the bodice. I instantly knew that the Jessica Simpson Dany Platforms would go perfectly. I get a lot of questions asking if the Jessica Simpson Dany Platforms are easy to walk in and my asnwer is surprisingly YES! When they first arrived I was super intimidated but after a few spins they are comfortable and flawlessly fabulous.

I have even walked the streets of New York City in them for up to 3 hours without a problem at all..even in tourist central of Times Square. Not once did I wobble of trip or slip. If you wear stilettos these will be easy as pie to walk in. Mostly because the heel is super chunky and has a large surface area..inlike stiletto's.

Well its an amazing day today so I think I may go Roller Skating at Riverbank State Park. They have an awesome skating rink and a track nearby with guys playing soccer and football and running around the track. Wonderful eyecandy.
Enjoy Memorial Day!

What do you all like to do for fun?
I love to rollerskate, read while at Barnes and Noble and take walks in the City. I also like playing Super Mario Brothers Video Game. LOL.

PS...I now have a tumblr account. check it out below!

It's Fixed

So 2 weeks ago my computer decided it no longer wished to turn on anymore.
O_o

I tried and tried to get that little fucker to work but she refused. Eventually I had to take her to the
GeekSquad.
Now being the daughter of an IT Guy..I know how to work a computer so going to the Geek Squad was my absolute last try. They looked at it and said
"It's your hardware..you need a new drive..and all of your things will be deleted"
(INSERT SHIT FACE HERE)
Well I wasn't having that so convinced I could probably fix it I left with my little fucker and home we went.
I think what devastated me was the thought of losing ALL and I MEAN ALL my Photos!
I am a blogger and photos are basically the blog!
I tried a Combo Fix...that didn't work. Tried to start it in safe mode, by CD, from an earlier point...
Nada, Ziltch..Nothing.
Finally before chucking her out the window...
 I cried a little........
Then put her in the closet.
For the next week I've been blogging from work (secretly of course) and my cell phone.
Being very passionate about my blog..I died a little everyday.
Not being able to comment on my daily reads sucked.
Then I noticed fewer and fewer comments do to my irregular post.
I felt like....I had to do something. So I went BACK to the Geek Squad.
And Guess What?!?!?
MONROE IS BACK IN BUSINESS PEOPLE!
My computer is fixed!
I think this was a test from the blogging Gods to see if I'd still post.
Also at least all the photos I've ever posted on my blog are all backed up in Picasa.
So you can expect some more outfit post soon!
Thanks for bearing with me through this difficult and trying time.

PS.
You all still have 4 days to vote for my Chanel Rouge COCO Shine Video

Have a Happy Memorial Day Weekend..and get out and see those Sailors if you are in NYC!

Aztec

Outfit
Top: Forever 21
Shorts: Dolce Vita
Shoes: Steve Madden

I got these awesome printed shorts at Fashion Night at the W Hotel back in February. I wore the twice before in the winter with opaque tights HERE!!!!!
I love the aztec like pattern on the shorts. The bright mustard colored top I think really makes the red in the shorts pop. I also pulled out my Steve Madden pumps. I love love love these but the heel is extra thin so I can't wear them too often in the city. Yall NYCers know what I'm talking about!
The shape of these shorts is huge right now. I'm seeing them everywhere from H&M to Zara.
See more of my favorite shorts here, here, and here!

So what do you all think of the extra skinny stilletto?
Honestly I think its on it way out.

Dont forget to take a look at my Chanel Rouge COCO Shine Video and Vote for Me!
Vote daily until May 31st for me to win a dream trip to Paris!

A Date with the City

This past Monday I had a Date with the City. I often do these and they are very enjoyable. I got the idea from an episode of Sex and the City where Carrie meets up with a Fleet Week Guy Lewis at a Navy Party who was bashing NYC saying it was too loud.
"If Lewis was right, and you only get one great love, New York may just be mine. And I can't have nobody talking shit about my boyfriend!" - Carrie Bradshaw
Speaking of which Fleet Week starts this weekend! Nothing like Navy and Marine men flooding the city. They have tons of events going on too...NYC Fleet Week Events Schedule.
Anyway back to the story..I went shopping at Loehmann's and then got a pair of cool earrings from Urban Outfitters for $5 and then saw a movie Midnight in Paris. Later I got a Mango Doughnut from The Doughnut Plant in Chelsea. Afterward I took a stroll through Bryant Park.
There was a sale at Loehmann's 20% off so I got 2 pair of 7 for all Mankind Jeans and a top for $66 dollars total. Fashion STEELE! Photos to come soon.
The highlight was definitely Midnight in Paris. A romantic comedy by Woody Allen. It was funny and thoughtful and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Owen Wilson was hilarious in it as well. It also spoke to my love for Paris. A place I've never been but have always been drawn to. The attraction has gotten even stronger. I plan to visit next year.

I just want to say that that mango donut was the best I have ever had in my life.
It was fresh, large and delicious!
If you are ever on 23rd St in Manhattan..stop on by.
The Perfect Date with the City!
