It's desolate outside. the trees are bare but underneath the surface everything's still alive...just waiting for Spring. I too am waiting for Spring. I don't know how many of these brick cold winter days I can take but until the Spring...I can at least wear some florals.

not just a sweatshirt

this amazing top isn't just a sweatshirt...it also has sheer shoulders and a peplum hem. I squealed with delight when I came across it at Soi Boutique. it's my first peplum piece!

I like how the sheer on the sleeves kinda matches with the sheer parts in the jeans. hope everyone is having a great weekend! i just wrapped up another Thrift and the City Tour and although I try not to shop when guiding the tour..i ended up with some hot pieces...Chloe and Salvatore Ferragamo for less than $35 combined! tis' the season.... to dress fancy

I wish I could be home for Christmas but this year it wasn't possible so I'm spending it with friends. I'm actually really excited because on Christmas day I am going to bake my favorite apple pie and head to the movies to see Django Unchained! I am just in love with Kerry Washington as in actress ever since I got hooked on Scandal (every Thursday my twitter fam and I go nuts!). When this time of year rolls around I gravitate toward classic elegant looks with a twist. So it's no surprise I pulled out my vintage jacquard bell skirt for the day!

camouflage jeans

I love these jeans. I cannot tell a lie I wear them like twice a week. They were a pair of jeans I got when I did my True to Size Jeans Challenge. They are 7 jeans and the print is just awesome. if you follow me on instagram (@monroesteele) you may have seen me rocking these with my favorite wedge sneakers. They are the perfect fit and right on trend too.

GET THE LOOK

Lately I've been crushing hard on camouflage looks...better yet...my inner tomboy has been coming out. I loved everything from the FRONTROW Collection which had a tomboy look to it. I've been rocking a lot of hoodies, sweatshirts, denim and wedge sneakers lately. It's a little out of the norm for me but its so darn comfortable. I also like how Rihanna is pulling off the tomboy look lately and am looking forward to seeing the pieces from her collaboration with River Island. I hear its chalk full of tomboy goodies!
