sharks, sequins and plaid

when I got this plaid top and shark tee from Forever 21 a few weeks ago I knew exactly what I wanted to pair them with...this gryphon sequin skirt! I love the mixture of textures and colors in this outfit. This plaid shirt with leather pockets is one of my best buys from Forever 21. They are definitely stepping their game up. In the past few months I've gotten these two pieces, these shorts and this Tupac top. I wore this outfit to the Lucky Brand jeans event last week.

im so incredibly happy the heat wave in New York City is over. I've been dying during those 90 plus days. Let me tell you its really hard to look cute when is 97 degrees and the humidity sends your hair into an afro with uncontrollable frizz and your make up is sliding down your face. Which is why unless I really have somewhere to go...I don't wear makeup. I always feel bad when a reader catches me on a "bum day" (when I look a hot mess). I always feel like I've disappointed them by not living up to their expectations. Actually its kinda funny sometimes. hey...im just a normal girl with an unhealthy habit for shoes and a photographer.

I love an all black look...its so simple and chic. I like the mixture of different shades of black that will all compliment one another. these jeans were a great buy from Loehmanns. this has to be the weirdest winter ever in NYC. last week it was in the 50s this week is a brisk 19 degrees! I hate winter with a passion. its hard to look cute when its this cold outside. I have no idea what I'm gonna do for outfits for New York Fashion Week.  A lot of people have been asking about these Steve Madden Wedge Sneakers. They fit true to size and are really comfortable. i've been looking for the perfect sweatshirt for awhile now being that sweatshirts and sports gear in general is making a huge comeback. i've seen fashionista's rock them with intricate belle skirts and heels as well as boyfriend jeans and booties. there are so many ways to dress up a sweatshirt especially one like this one. i ordered this from ASOS and have been wearing it non stop since. i've dressed it up and dressed it down. here i decided to go out onto the basketball court and try my hand at some athletic moves...lol.

i used to run track and was a member on the varsity cheerleading squad in high school.

i still got it...i think. lol. this sweatshirt is super warm and i love the color. i remember back in middle school when i was somewhat of a tomboy...i would only wear shell toe adidas!

the shoppers holiday...

this past weekend i was super casual for a little thrifting excursion.

i hit up my favorite spot Beacon's Closet to pick out a nice Thanksgiving dress.

i wanted something vintage, a dress of course with a bright pop of color. i ended up picking up the perfect dress and for only $12! while out my photog and I grabbed some Pinkberry. my absolute favorite is the original with pomegranate, coconut and a drizzle of honey. while in the west village we stopped and took a few photos. i swear one day i want to live on Perry St.

im on my way to my home town in North Carolina and can't wait to hang out with my family...and eat all the things i miss about southern food! i also can't wait for all the Black Friday Sales! its a shoppers holiday! while at home i plan on hitting up Best Buy (i want a new lens for my camera) and Nordstroms (new shoes of course lol).
