blue stripes

i love electric blue clothing like this skirt and these shoes. this was the only blue top that i had before I got this cool Bobi top while I was visiting the
Caravan Stylist Studio. I really like the shape of it and the sleeves.
Top: c/o Bobi | Shorts: Urban Outfitters see them worn differently HERE | Shoes: L.A.M.B. Mia |Sunnies: Vintage Caribe
Bag: Forever 21 | Lipstain: Stila Fiery

these shorts are one of my favorite pairs along with these sheer shorts that I got from Top Shop. i do love shorts but dont wear them often. i like shorts that flare away from my legs and think they are more flattering on my figure. anywho...again my reflective sunglasses that i picked up in Barcelona are too cool for school but unless its really sunny its quite difficult to see anything. lol.

the coolest chick in the galaxy

i've been searching high and low for the perfect galaxy print something and found this amazing dress at SheInside.com.  The galaxy print was a huge trend before color blocking and I always wanted something but it wasn't until seeing this dress that I found what I was looking for.
A whole lot of galaxy and a lot of my favorite color...GREEN.

Dress: Star Printing Bat-Sleeved Dress c/o Sheinside.com | Shoes: H&M | Lipstick: MAC Red
Sunnies: Spitfire with removable lens see them differently HERE
Get 20% off at Sheinside.com with coupon code: Monroe20 until October 30th 2012.
this dress is see-through so I rolled with a bra and biker shorts underneath.
i'm really glad to have discovered Sheinside.com because they have great clothing at a STEELE of a price. Some of my favorites on the site are this denim dress, and this african print dress that I'm smitten with. Thanks to Marni I've entered a heavy african print phase that I've yet to stock my closet with.
If you follow me on Instagram (@monroesteele) you've already seen these amazing neon shoes I picked up in the H&M in Barcelona. Thought they were a perfect touch.
what trends are you considering this season?

with Love from Barcelona

after checking out the beach and the some of the sights such as Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell I did more shopping and went to the Picasso Museum which was amazing. Let me tell you...the Zara in Spain is SICK. I was lucky enough to be at a hotel on the same street, the lovely Silken Gran Havana Hotel. It is one of the hugest Zara's I have ever seen. The best thing was the insanity of the pricing compared to the US. OMG..so yall know I'm a shopping fanatic so I definitely looked up the prices of everything I wanted in US dollars and Euros. Spains prices were about $20-50 lower even with the dollar to euro conversion!
Fashion Steele's all around!
So when I did my conversions (thanks converter app on my phone) I knew just how much I was saving.
I also did some cool thrift and vintage shopping in the El Born neighborhood of Barcelona which had the tiniest streets filled with boutique shops.

All in all a smashing good time was had by me and my friend. I also celebrated my birthday while there...hence the rasberry, strawberry, fudge cake thingy in a martini glass.
it was de-effing-licious.
one year older...and super inspired by my vacation.
i quickly came home and put together the most amazing outfits high off my Barcelona infusion.
the quirky thrift shop Le Swing Vintage was a jewel. I picked up the best sunglasses ever there!
i also spent a lot of money in Zara...enough that I may never shop there again this year.
soon i will post a video of Barcelona as a whole.

Back from Barcelona

Hi everyone. I'm back from Barcelona. I touched down at JFK last night. My sleeping patterns are at the moment all effed up. It is currently 5:30 am in New York and I have been awake since 3am.
I did manage to fall back asleep for an hour but then I got an email alert that a pair of shoes from Zara that I want were once again available in my size...so of course I had to wake up for that.
I have tried to condense as many photos as I could. I took so many. Barcelona is breathtaking surrounded by mountains and the sea. I ate great paella, shopped like a freaking maniac and listened to numerous 80's hits. Ohhh...yes...it seems Spain is stuck on 80's American music but it was awesome.
The first few days were just a lot of beach and sight seeing at Sangrada Familia and Parc Guell.
Hope this wasn't photo overload for you. I have sooooo many amazing photos and it was hard to narrow it down. I would say the highlight of the first few days was visiting Parc Guell. It's situated high in the hills of Barcelona and it overlooks the entire city. It was really something I will never forget. Do the cave photos look familiar to anyone???? If you watched
America's Next Top Model one of the fashion shows the girls did took place there a few seasons ago!

stay tuned for more photos and video soon.
