Lulu's: a sweater gone mad

you all know how i feel about sweaters. they are hot, most often than not they are itchy and they squeeze all the circulation out of my upper body when I add a jacket. but finally...FINALLY i have found a luxurious sweater that is comfortable, loose and a little insane with the amazing print on it from Lulus.com. unfortunately these babies sold out quick enough to make your head spin but don't fret they still have a pretty amazing collection of unique and comfy sweaters HERE.

Bag: Rebecca Minkoff M.A.C. mini

there it is folks...another pencil skirt. i couldn't help myself honestly. i was just browsing H&M and when I saw the faux leather panels on the side..i couldn't contain myself. then i made the mistake of trying it on..seeing how fabulous my bum looked...and the rest is history. thats the mistake. when you try something on and it looks fantastic, how can you not buy it??? lol. ohhh meeee.
confessions of a shopaholic. see more of my pencil skirts here, here and here.

wild roses

there is something about this top that makes me just want to lounge around and observe everything around me. when i feel restless or just like i need to think i go to my bay windows and look out on the streets of Harlem. I've sat in this window so many times just
thinking about life and how i got here.
i'm so blessed to have the opportunity to live where i want and do what i want.
i have honestly gotten everything i've wanted and it was from hard work and dedication.
if i wanted a raise...i made it happen. if i wanted new shoes..i got a second job.
life is what you make it...

Top: American Apparel | Shorts: Rebecca Minkoff | Lipstick: Stila Fiery
Guitar: Mine lol

i realize that i've done a similar post here with this exact color scheme.lol. its a way i can look back and see how i've changed. i think i will do a post like that yearly. you know how people say you can't have it all. i believe that. i find that when other parts of my life are flourishing others are unkempt.
in regards to work, money and my passions...my life is perfect. the only thing im missing is someone to share it with. dating in New York City is not for the faint of heart. it was so much simplier when i lived down south. men in NYC have too many options to ever consider only having one.
thats what i've been thinking about lately.

Taylor Made

im pretty sure some months ago i reported that you all will never and i mean never see me in polka dots.
i am eating my words.
at the Caravan Studio I came across this amazing Taylor Dress. I also did a post a while back when I visited their showroom here. Taylor dresses are the perfect feminine girly girl dresses.
i couldn't resist this audrey hepburn like dress.

i just find this dress to be so classic. i can imagine wearing it to some very official political event or to the annual polo match in NYC. i really love the shape of it. Taylor Dresses are really made with a womans curves in mind. i think for the very first polka dot piece in my wardrobe...it's all i'll ever need.

Devil in a Red Dress

i never and i mean hardly ever wear red. i dont know why. i just didn't really think it was ever a flattering color on me. there is however 1 post i've done in the past where I wore red.
(I dare you to try and find it).
any who... a few week's ago I attended the Holiday Preview at Caravan Studios here in NYC.
Caravan Studio is this awesome space where a lot of designers show their collections.
It's a fashion bloggers dream. I came across Synderela an amazing label and this red dress from their Fall 2012 collection.

i actually wore this dress out dancing with the girls last weekend and I got tons of compliments.
check out more outfits i've worn for a night out here and here.
i guess i need to invest in more red pieces after all.
i've definitely been eyeing this dress from top shop and this one from Mod Cloth.
P.S. thanks for all the love on Instagram, Lookbook.nu and Facebook and also those who always take the time to comment here on my blog.
yall are sooo awesome!

is there a color you shy away from and why?

converse all star

i am a girly girl. most of my shoes consist of heels 4 inches and higher.
i just love feeling tall and well...like an amazon. it does wonders for self confidence.
but i digress. i do own sneakers. 5 pair to be exact.
2 pair of running shoes...because these legs need to be well maintained and 3 pair of converses.
2 pairs of high tops and a limited edition low top.
sometimes a girl just wants to chillax = Chill + relax lol
Top: Forver 21 | Shorts: Levi's | Vest: Zara | Shoes: Converse | Sunnies: Spitfire

these are my favorite sneakers. they have so many colors in them i can wear them with everything. i wore this outfit recently to a neighborhood block party...in which i got my electric slide on.
just face it you can't do the electric slide in 4 inch heels.
check out the last post i wear these: What the Chuck and a video of my shoe collection!

Denim on Denim

so awhile back i made a little collage of how I would rock the denim on denim trend. here is that trend put in motion. i actually really love how it turned out. comfortable yet chic! it kind of reminds me of my denim overalls outfit post.
