DKNY Boots

I recently just did a full clean out of my shoe closet. I mean I have literally hundreds of pairs of shoes. I decided its time to clean shop and if I didn't really wear them last year...they are now up for sale on Shop Fashion Steele NYC. There are a few pairs that I still can't bring myself to give up like these turquoise wedges and these DKNY Boots I'm wearing. But the quicker I get rid of them...the quicker I can make room for new ones lol.

Top: Zara | Jacket: Dallin Chase via Loehmanns | Skirt: Patrizia Pepe via Loehmanns
Boots: DKNY via DSW | Lip Color: Nars Train Bleu | Earrings: Gifted by Alexis (thanks boo)

wow...it wasn't until I looked at these side profile photos that I realized my butt looks great lol. I blame it on living in a 5th floor walkup and eating a lot of grits. so it's finally here! NYFW starts for me on Wednesday! I am sooooo excited! I know some of you aren't crazy about the actual shows so I will be doing most of my show reviews under the NYFW tab and using this prime blogger space for behind the scenes, street style and what I'm wearing. All of the shows at Lincoln Center will be streaming live HERE and HERE starting Wednesday! I remember wearing this skirt last season. I will be rocking these boots this fashion week as they are super comfortable...and wont kill my feet.

NEW IN: Quilted Black Leather Jacket

yes...anything quilted please. ever since I scooped up this quilted Missoni skirt from Loehmanns...I've been on the hunt for a quilted jacket. As if I need another black jacket but I couldn't contain myself. While doing some personal shopping for a client at Century 21 last week I came across this beauty! And its from one of my favorite lines P. Luca. It fits perfectly, looks stylish and is super warm. It was also less than $60, a definite fashion STEELE in my book!

jacquard skirt with a twist

Peplums here...peplums there...peplums are everywhere. This is the closest I will get to a peplum with this trumpet hem skirt. When I saw this amazing jacquard skirt on ASOS and knew it would be a staple in my wardrobe. It's diverse and can be worn throughout the seasons. What I love most is the shape and the volume. It's dramatic yet refined...if those two things can even coexist. It also has two trends in one, trumpet hem and floral print.

Earrings: Light Years NC | Skull Head Bracelet: Marti Jewelry | Ring: UO

Usually I hate winters in New York but this one is hardly a winter at all. One day its warm and the next its freezing. I'm not complaining though because I still refuse to wear tights on most occasions. I just like the look of my bare legs rather than thick black tights but I wear them only when I know I will die a frozen death if I don't. ASOS is quickly becoming my go to place to shop...and I've finally gotten confident enough to order bottoms online. Usually I only buy shoes and dresses online because I'm pretty sure of the fit. ASOS just has too many great things. I've already ordered 3x from them last month alone. Currently I'm coveting these satin tux pants, this metallic leather skirt, and this color block leather jacket.

where do you do most of your online shopping?
im always looking for new places to shop online!

Plaid is definitely back

i think i was on to something back during the summer when i thrifted this plaid dropped waist dress from Beacon's Closet. Plaid is definitley hot again. i havent worn plaid since I was a tween rocking plaid skirts like the girls of the movie Clueless. that is still one of my all time favorite movies. i must admit i am loving this trend...both the dropped waist and the plaid. for now this is the only plaid in my wardrobe but I plan on adding lots more soon! doesn't plaid just scream Fall/Winter! thank goodness i took these photos last week before it officially turned WINTER today
(there is currently 4 inches of snow on the ground). O_0

I paired this plaid dress with one of my favorite leather jackets. i picked this BCBG leather chai jacket up from Nordstroms Rack a few years back and it has been a constant jacket in my Fall/Winter rotation. check out my post about great Fall/Winter jackets HERE. with this cold weather kicking in i've been spending lots of time discovering shopping websites like this one which has amazing dresses like this one for less than $40! fashion STEELE's all around. they even have a
Back in the 90's section which i love since everything in the 90's in now back in...just like plaid!

Fall Jacket Trends

i refer to Fall as "hat and jacket season"....and the precurser to my least favorite season...winter.
O_o
but i digress. i love a good hat and the only thing i love more is a great jacket. over the years I've collected an awesome denim jacket, black leather jacket, tan leather jacket,
these are my 4 go to jackets during the Fall season before I convert to my most hated bubble coat. but once again i digress. the only jacket i crave now is a white leather one and im just waiting to thrift the perfect one that looks like this one but without that $3000 price tag...whew good Lord some fashion is only for the rich! Any who here is a lookbook of awesome jackets for Fall.

which is your favorite????
make sure to check out Shop Fashion Steele NYC for some great fall jackets!

a little leather goes a long way

this past weekend the weather in New York City was gorgeous.
especially on Sunday. the sun was shinning and the chill of Fall could only be felt with a slight breeze here and there. i love love love this time of year when I can justify rocking skirts with boots. i paired this awesome mint colored skirt from American Apparel that i wore here during
Fashion Week with the ox blood colored top from H&M. and a little leather goes a long way!

yes...my first time wearing my favorite leather jacket this fall. there's nothing quite like a good broken in leather jacket. i paired it with my one of my first major shoe purchases Vera Wang Lavender boots. I noticed that Nordstroms Rack sells a lot of cool Vera Wang shoes for nearly half the original price...so check them out. im trying out this really dark blackish/purple-ish lip pencil from NARS. i wanted something almost black but not quite. its super edgy and im digging it.
