denim overalls

these are my favorite pair of overalls. actually they were my only pair until i picked up a shorts version recently from Urban Outfitters. I got the idea to flip them down from the Rihanna for River Island Collection. I like the way it turned out!

its a little know fact that I have 3 tattoos. 2 are shown in this post :-) I love my tattoos but I've been thinking lately of getting a fourth one. I've been contemplating it for 2 years so I know I really want it. I'm going to get it next month when I'm visiting North Carolina (home) for my birthday. Tattoos like everything else are so much cheaper down south compared to New York! Did anyone check out the Rihanna for River Island Collection? If so what do you think of it?

i love shoes...thats my effin problem

some women love clothes or accessories. some women love jewelry or bags.

me... I love shoes...that's my effin problem.

now I like a good deal...hence the title of my blog Fashion Steele NYC...also its my last name so its a double cooltandra. but shoes...well I don't care how much a shoe costs. if I really really want them i will find a way to buy them. whether that be taking another job, working extra hours or stalking them on various websites until they go on sale. I have stalked ebay, I have done sample sales, I've gone from one store to another looking for my size. Heck I've even interviewed one of L.A.M.B.s shoe designers! A good shoe can make an outfit even if you are wearing a garbage bag...a fabulous pump and damnit you look great. any who NYFW got me jonesing for shoes and these are a few that will be in HEAVY rotation this Spring.

catch my drift

yesterday was some weird hybrid of a Spring day in the Winter. It was slightly warm the sun was shinning and it gave me a serious urge to wear as little as possible without freezing my buns off. New York Fashion Week has come to an end and it was so much fun. I think I've finally hit my stride. I did just enough shows that I didn't feel overwhelmed and I didn't get sick this season! I took my vitamins and basically lived off Starbucks and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I'm pretty sure I lost 5 pounds too lol.

every since I scored this Zara white leather jacket on sale I have been wearing it to pieces. it's seriously what I've been missing in my wardrobe. I have some fantastic outfit post coming up for yall soon. I know some of you aren't really down with all the fashion coverage but I will more than makeup for the outfit slump! seeing all those shows made me shop like crazy...and I mean crazy. In the past 3 weeks alone I've gotten 4 pairs of shoes, 2 skirts, a dress, 3 sweaters, 4 pairs of jeans, a clutch,  2 pair of earrings, a hat, 2 watches and a blouse and 2 new perfumes. yes. I have a problem. but I did get a lot of it on sale.

Winter Whites

This is my idea of a minimalist look. I scored the white leather skirt during the summer while visiting the Brooklyn Flea Market. It's one of my favorite places to find unique pieces like this necklace and bag. I have been craving a perfect white leather jacket and although I scored this one while thrifting, when I came across this Zara beaut that I'd been eyeing on sale 60% off...I could not resist.

I love this outfit. Its simple white and black but its one of my favorite looks. I got this cropped top turtle neck tank after doing this post! I went to American Apparel and stocked up like crazy on basic black tops.
