GET THE LOOK
I'm gonna let you in on a little secret...I never pay full price for anything. This blog aint called Fashion Steele NYC for nothing! I have a hefty obsession with Alexander Wang and them wangs aren't cheap full price. Here's my secret...for discounted designer shoes check out these sites: shoescribe.com, theoutnet.com, barneyswarehouse.com, yoox.com
The majority of my shoes are ordered from these sites from 40-80% off. Yes...80%. They carry all designers and I mean all and some you have never heard off. I just saw some Gucci's for less than $100 on yoox.com. I mean seriously its shoe heaven.
The same sites or at least the last 3 offer designer clothing as well for next to nothing. It is possible to rock designers without being filthy rich. I am neither filthy or rich. lol. I got these wangs for 60% off and these Phillip Lim Culottes (Yes culottes are a thing now lol) I got for $40 at Century 21. DO NOT SLEEP ON CENTURY 21 in NYC. If you live here or are planning to visit it is A MUST! Go early on a weekday (Tue/Wed/Thurs) right when they open and you will have the place to yourself for at least 2 hours. It will be quiet and orderly. Anytime after that and you can fagetteabouit. I got these Gianvito Rossi sandals last year from Century 21 for a mere $120. Yes they were on sale and I saved $500.
If you are a die hard thrifter check out Ebay, Etsy and my Thrift and the City ebook. for shopping online I also have the POSHMARK app. I scored this Vintage Louis Vuitton Epi Sac Seau bag that I've been wanting for 2 years on POSHMARK and haggled the price down to $200. Yes....I am that good.
Anywho just wanted to bless yall with some shopping knowledge but im sure if you shop like I do...you already know. Now...im off to soak my feet cause im dying after walking around in these wangs all day. Make sure to check out all the New York Fashion Week Streetstyle on my Instagram and HERE for all the behind the scenes on the shows (including my photo bomb of June Ambrose' Instagram lol)

Orange, White and Black NYFW

I couldn't cover any shows yesterday because I was too busy working and stacking my paper for Paris next week. But today it's back to the tents.

Make sure to check out my FASHION WEEK link for all the happens from Day 1 (with celeb photos from front row as well as video of all shows I attended). I punked out when meeting one of my favorite stylist, I almost died in a cab with Claire from Fashion Bomb and I had a good discussion with blogger bud Nigel about what brands/PR companies are eager and not so eager to let bloggers into their shows.
as always keep up with me on INSTAGRAM.

It's here New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2014

TOP: Monroe Steele #fashionblogger tee | Skirt: SUNO via Tokio 7 | Shoes: Gianvito Rossi
Hat: Random Corner booth in NYC | Clutch: BCBGeneration via Loehmanns

Here's a peek at what i'm wearing today! Surprise Surprise im rocking my very own #fashionblogger tee. I've been in the works designing catchy screen print tees. You can check them out HERE. They are all made with the fashion blogger in mind. They will be available for order next month on October 11th!
I took a visit to Tokio 7 consignment shop on Saturday and came away with this fabulous SUNO skirt which is actually my very first SUNO piece in my wardrobe. It was a fashion steele at less than $50! I'm finding that this fashion week my wardrobe will consist of funky skirts, screen print tees, fabu heels and hats.
No curls for me this fashion week. It's too much upkeep. I'm going for a slicked back pony tail this season and adding these sick hair clips for a little extra umph.
Well today I have a 9am show and will pretty much be out all day at Lincoln Center running around from show to show, instagraming my life away and visiting with blogger buds I haven't seen since last season. Keep up with me on Instagram and I will have a full post locked and loaded for you tomorrow.

In honor of fashion week, I also love to do a little giveaway! I'm giving away this Monroe Steele #fashionblogger tee! Enter by leaving a comment on this post with your name and email and t-shirt size (Small/Medium/Large). Winner will be announced October 11th when all tees become available.
Keep up with my fashion week posts HERE.

What to Wear to Fashion Week

To all my fellow fashionista's out there who email me and ask me about how to get into fashion week you can find a step by step guide HERE and on my YouTube Channel. It's not hard it's just a lot of work and by work I mean I a lot of online searching and emailing. But once you've got that coveted invitation, you may be wondering what to wear to New York Fashion Week.
It really depends on what season it is. Next month the Spring/Summer 2014 Collections will be showing and although it will be technically September or close to being Fall it will still be pretty warm.  Here are my tips on what to wear.

1). Dress accordingly to the weather and make sure to check the weather. It often rains during fashion week so keep a small umbrella handy.

2). Carry a big bag or a small rolled up bag inside your bag. You will collect all kinds of stuff inside the tents at Lincoln Center. They love to give away free makeup and magazines and snacks.

3). Wear comfortable yet fashionable shoes. I mean yeah if you wear heels all day your feet will hurt but you will look fabulous and potentially get pap'd by The Sartorialist or Mr. Street Peeper or by Bill Cunningham himself and end up on Vogue.com. I always keep a pair of fast flats in my bag because my feet hurt like hell by the end of the day.

4). If you are looking for actual outfits to wear try some of the trends below that are easy to duplicate on any budget: Denim on Denim, Print on Prints, Monochrome, or dress up a tee shirt with boyfriend jeans and amazing heels and accessories.
With the Denim on Denim look its very easy to pull off. Go with a denim top and a denim skirt/shorts or boyfriend jeans. Then dress it up with a statement necklace, a bold lip and a great pump. Bonus: If you are looking to get noticed go with a clear bag/clutch of some sort.
Prints and florals and stripes are super trendy right now which means its easy to find any piece at an affordable price. I love pairing stripes and florals because its so unexpected. If you are looking to get noticed go with the ever so popular mirrored sunglasses or sunnies with a great shape or cool feature.
Monochrome is another trend that easy to pull off. Go Black and White...or with a mixture of all the same colors. I pulled off this all green look one fashion week and it was a hit. If you go the black and white route make sure to punch it up with colors in accessories such as earrings or a bag. Unique bags always stand out.
