Ready for the Hamptons

Outfit
Top: Threads for Thought via Loehmanns $22 fashion STEELE!
Jeans: 7 for all mankind via Loehmann's
Necklace: Unknown via Nordtroms Rack
Ring: got it in Playa Del Carmen Mexico
I finally found the perfect off white jeans. I've been craving a pair since a few summers ago when I saw Beyonce is a smoking hot skinny pair. I hate plain jeans. I need some excessive stitching, weird designs, ankle zippers and the like. These pants met all my qualifications as well as being only $27 after a 30% discount at Loehmann's. See more jeans I love here!
When my friend Sheena saw me in this outfit she said I look ready for the Hampton's. I wish! I'd rather be in an AC cooled mansion on the beach than in my hot box of an apartment. The drawback to NYC apartments is they rarely have central air conditioning. Which I'm used to being a southern girl. It's been a huge change but cold showers keep me from sticking to my comforter. Luckily today is a dreary rainy day so my Con Ed bill will be happy tonight when I can sleep with the window open instead of my AC.

I'm really actually thinking of visiting the hamptons. I've never been.
What cool things are there to do and where are the IT places to go???

Bandage

Outfit
Dress: 7 for all Mankind via Loehmanns
Shoes: Nine West

I got this awesome dress as a gift to myself for my birthday. It reminded me of the bandage dresses and I love the detailing. I got this bracelet while at home visiting my mother for my birthday. I paired it with one of my favorite pairs of earrings. See more of my earring collection HERE!
I feel like a vixen in the dress. I actually wore this outfit out to the club a few weeks ago. I went to the club called HK (Hell's Kitchen). The music was great but it just wasn't my scene. I have definitely outgrown clubs. I am looking to meet a quality man and I don't think a club in NYC is where I will meet one. I know its kinda cliche but I moved to New York to find love and live in a city I've always wanted to live.
I've been here 5 years and still single....and loving it!
Dating in New York is just plain hard. I think it's mostly because people in around my age are more career oriented to have time for anything else.

What do you all think about the dating scene in your area?

MintBox Partner Program Blogger Event

A few days ago I attended the MintBox Partner Program Event at Theater Bar in NYC.
Basically it is a widget for bloggers to use on their blogs. It can showcase items you choose and you get money for every time someone buys a product.
I was a little skeptical going into the presentation but overall it seem like a win win situation.
All it can do is showcase items/stores/brands you like and make you money. You can either take the cash or donate it to your favorite charity.
Pretty sweet deal. I attended this event with a few A LOT of the bloggers from the

See it worn differently HERE!!!!

There was a makeup station as well as hair station for us to get our hair and makeup done or refreshed.

Of course there were delicious Mint Cocktails as well. As a person who does not like the taste of hard alcohol these cocktails we surprisingly DELISH! I had a few lol.

Preity of Fashion Solace was there as well...killin' em with her style.

So was Jerrica of Fashion Nostalgia

Marcy Clark of Women's Mafia and I.
I loved Marcy's Vintage Dress.

Keiko Lynn and I

This fashionista won the Rebbeca Minkoff Bag Giveaway.
She actually let me hold it later that night lol.

The giftbag was pretty awesome with NARS products as well as ARROJO Hair Cair Products
I can't wait to use.

What do you all think of this idea? Would you consider it for your blog?
I'm definitely going to see how it works for me. I will keep you all posted!

Ways to Wear It: Part II

Outfit
Blazer: BB Dakota via Loehmanns
Top: Forever 21
Skirt: H&M see it differently here.
Wedges: Sam Edelman Javi get a closer look here.
Necklace: Kenneth Cole $19 fashion STEELE! via Loehmanns

Here's my favorite top again in ways to wear in part II. These Sam Edelman wedges are ultra comfortable. They were a gift from my mother for my birthday. Check out my other birthday splurges HERE! I got these wedges at Nordstroms. The design of the heel is what caught my eye. The heel of the shoe is very detailed and I love the extra height of the back portion of the wedge. I love this skirt so much that I got it in this off white color, black and orange. The cut of it is just so unique and flattering.

I have totally turned into a platform/wedge woman. The last 5 pairs of shoes I've gotten are all either platforms or wedges. The awesome thing about wedges are how freaking comfortable they are. I'm the kind of girl who wears heels to go shopping so in a city with concrete streets like New York you need great sturdy shoes. Wedges and platforms certainly take the edge off.

I'm also the type of girl that loves shopping alone. I hate having to wait for my friends..lol. I usually have a set vision when I go shopping. I also really like showing others where to find awesome deals which is why I started the Thrift and the City shopping tour. Check it out if you are in the NYC area.

What kind of shopper are you? Do you like shopping alone or with friends?

Which ways to wear it do you guys like better? This one with the forever 21 shirt or the previous look with the Zara stripe skirt?

Ways to Wear It: Part I

Outfit
Blazer: BB Dakota via Loehmanns
Top: Forever 21
Skirt: Zara see it here with my other Zara finds
Shoes: BCBGeneration
Necklace: Aldo see more of my statement necklaces HERE!!!!

I am all about stripes so when I came across this lovely pencil skirt at Zara I got it quick. The material is so soft and stretchy and comfortable. I instantly knew I wanted to pair it with my
I wear this shirt all the time. I really love the color and the feel of it. I don't know what I'm going to do when it starts to fall apart. LOL. For a finishing touch I popped on my new statement necklace from ALDO. They have great accessories this season. I had been craving a white necklace for the longest and this one spoke to me. It can make any outfit, even jeans and a t-shirt instantly glamourous.

Of course I wore this shirt with another outfit that I will post tomorrow...and I want you all to tell me which way you like it best.
In other news I'm so so happy NYC finally has summer like weather. It was scorching hot when I took these photos last week. I look forward to picnics in Central Park and walking along tiny streets in the East Village and discovering new stores. I love New York in the Spring and Summer.
It's the perfect place to be a women who loves fashion but it's not a great place for dating.
Good thing New York City is my boyfriend...along with Loehmann's and Nordtrom's Rack!

What are you looking forward to doing in your area this Summer?

I've also started a tumblr so check it out

Leopard in heat...

Outfit
Top: Zara
Pants: H&M
Shoes: Top Shop...see them here and here.
Necklace: Tuleste from the gift shop at The W Hotel Times Square

This is definitely one of my new favorite tops and actually the only leopard top I own. I got it at Zara a few weeks ago. I wore it with the necklace I picked up at The W Hotel in Times Square. I have been to a few events there and love it. The Living Room at the W Hotel was where I hoted my first
Since then it's grown to over 70 members and I'm extremely excited about that.
If you have a vision go for it. I was so nervous no one would show up but now it's off and running.
So excited about the down right hot weather in NYC right now. Today was gorgeous...just the perfect amount of heat and breezes.
These pants are currently in H&M and they are so comfortable yet stylish. They feel a lot like wearing sweats.

I have actually seen a few people who are able to pull off actually sweats to make them look chic. I'm not one of those people able to do that but applaud those who can make damn near anything look chic.

What do you think...are sweat pants an acceptable day time look?
