Pink & Pepper

so this was a dress I went through hell and high water to get at a sale at Urban Outfitters. Read about that crazy story here. I recently rediscovered it smushed between two other dresses in my closet. YAY! don't you just love when that happens! this time I paired my teeny yellow number with a blazer and these hot Pink & Pepper tribal heel pumps.

these pink & pepper shoes really set it off i think. I love the cut of this dress and the blazer makes it a little more "yes im about to go to something important and businessy" type of look. if you are looking for a great year round yellow dress check out this one, this one and definitely this one!

PS. a great tip for holding your precious mags...use a wine rack...works just as well as a magazine holder with more sparkle!

im hardly ever in jeans

its true...i dont wear jeans that much. i used to live in my skinny Sergio Valente's in undergrad.

the darkest of denim was my favorite but now i just find skinny jeans confining.

i have a small waist and a bigger butt and thighs. Most jeans that are my actual waist size I can barely get past my thigh. So I always end up in the "stretch jeans department".

with boyfriend jeans..my legs can breath. yeah they arent as sexy as skinnys but with the right shoe...

they are just as appealing without losing circulation to my lower region.

these Sam Edelman pumps are dangerous...and i mean literally. one of the spikes actually stabbed me when I crossed my ankles once. i was like geesh...well atleast if I was ever attacked I could seriously F*** someone up with these heels.

This skirt literally jumped into my hand at my local H&M a few weeks ago. The color is so bright and cheerful and instantly made me smile. The color reminds me of sunshine. I paired it with my new favorite Fergie Wedges. Who knew that she made shoes? I was pleasantly surprised.

I took these photos last week but right now I'm in North Carolina celebrating my birthday with family. I have been jogging around thr trail near my mothers home and forgot how much I love it. Last year I was into pilates and had personal sessions twice a week but had to stop secondary to spending too much money on clothes. haha.

I think I will get back on that too and pull out my Wii Fit more often.

My favorite thing to do on the Wii Fit is Hoola Hoop and the Jogs.

That hoola hopping gets my abs riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight lol.

Have any of you tried the Wii Fit???What's your favorite way to stay in shape?

NYC Fashion Bloggers Meetup Group

So, you all know I started the NYC Fashion Bloggers Meetup Group on Meetup.com a few weeks ago. We had out first Meetup last night at The Living Room at the W Hotel in Times Square. It was freaking awesome. The ladies who attended were all very interesting and we had the most intriguing conversations. I think the group is off to an awesome start!

Loehmanns and Levis

I got this awesome blazer from Loehmanns a little while ago. I love it. The neutral color lets me wear it with just about anything, but it looks better with a bold pop of color!

Loehmanns is my new boyfriend. He provides me with chic BCBGeneration cute purses (see here!!!), BB Dakota Blazers, studded tops and Ray Ban sunglasses (which I haven't gotten yet but will soon). Oh Loehmanns you have been good to me. The Levis Curve jeans are awesome. I had a great experience at the Levis Store on 14th St. The jeans fit me like a glove! Thanks IFB Conference! I now have a Holy Trinity of Department Stores: Marshalls, Nordstrom Rack and Loehmanns. Welcome to the club Loehmanns. You may just be my new favorite.

a Celebration at aloft

Last night was my good friend Kenecia's Birthday bash at aloft Hotel's new sleek lounge and bar WXYZ in Harlem. This modern hotel recently opened in Harlem and it is amazing. The decor is modern and edgy, the food and drinks were delicious and the crowd young and fashionable. This was definitely the perfect spot for Kenecia's party. We had a great time

 Sheena and Kenecia got the party started in the awesome hotel room at aloft with some wine and delicious spring rolls from the lounge!

Kenecia's dress is Guess

I had a great time last night. The atmosphere was just perfect. I think I will be making more visits to aloft! Kenecia was very excited and I'm glad I got to spend this special birthday with her. I met Kenecia and Sheena at church. I had just moved to Harlem, just graduated from NYU and didn't have many friends. I vowed that day that I'd make a new friend and that morning at church I met the two of them. 

It was one of the best things that's happened to me since I moved to NY. Kenecia had this leopard dress on and I said to myself: this fashion maven and I are going to be friends! Kenecia is a very talented human being, make-up artist and a talented lyricist and actor. This girl is going to be MAJOR!

Its funny, I've actually met most of my good friends at church including Stephanie and Alicia. 

It's hard to make good friends in this fast city which is why I love living in Harlem. It's a little slower than downtown NYC and feels a little more like home (North Carolina) to me. I also think its great that new establishments like aloft and wxyz lounge are popping up all over Harlem.
