Spring Trends Guide 2013: Sweatshirts, Neons and Lace

I'm not looking forward to the time springing ahead (I love all my hours of sleep). But I am excited for Spring...although it seems it will never be here in NYC! We supposedly have some major snow storm on the way and I am not in the least impressed with mother nature at the moment. anywho a girl can dream right? So I'm bringing you another Spring Trends post...you can check out the first of the series HERE.
So for now we are going to cover: Sweatshirts (yes...they are still making a comeback), neons (more solid color only neons), and of course nothing says spring like a little lace!

 GET THE LOOK
when I saw this neon orange sweatshirt at Zara I immediately bought it even though orange isn't really in my forte of favorite colors. I loved the brightness and how cozy it is. It's a great stand out peice and something about it screams Kenzo Paris to me. I paired it with this amazing lace flouncy skirt (yes flounce is in for Spring) from Lulus.com and neutral accessories. You can always tone down a loud outfit with a nude shoe! Trust me people are gonna rock the sweatshirt trend right up until summer.

Tomboy Style

I am a girlie girl through and through. I love lipstick and high heels but I have begun to unleash my inner tomboy as evidenced here. It's comfortable...yet stylish and allows me to rock my sneaker wedges which are currently the most comfortable pair of shoes I own. I have been getting inspiration from the weirdest places...badgalriri being one of them and even her arch enemy Karreuche. Yes my secret obsession is stalking them both on instagram. But we all know the raining queen of this look was Aaliyah.
The all black every thing is one of my favorite and easy to do looks. See me rock it here and here.

American Apparel Afrika

so American Apparel is doing the damn thing right now. they are totally satisfying my urge for African Inspired Prints and bright pops of color.
i loved these skirts so much...I bought 3 and am on the hunt for more.
These skirts are still in test mode so they aren't even online yet!
you just have to peruse every single American Apparel to find them..and not all of them carry these  Afrika printed skirts.
I found these at American Apparel in Harlem and the flagship in Soho.
hurry and get them before they are gone. at $38 a pop...its a definite fashion STEELE!

Ahhhhhhh. im just so happy right now. now i can get my Solange Knowles vibe going.
she is fast becoming my fashion icon next to Tracee Ellis Ross. How weird is it that I have a photo of them both together from a previous fashion week! I am falling in love with Kenzo thanks to Solange. Now if only i could afford it but for now this will do!
