what i wore to the reunion

so the day after Thanksgiving while I was visiting North Carolina I went to my high school reunion.
yes...i am 28 and im not ashamed damnit. i dont look a day over 24 without makeup lol.
anywho...i wanted to be chic yet a little edgy so i went with this basic black pencil skirt with leather panels from H&M and this new camouflage tee that I picked up at Urban Outfitters.
i think it made the perfect understated statement and yes i saw my high school ex boyfriend. i still remember when he had to take out his retainer before we kissed. ahhhh Youth. its so fleeting.

im so glad i got to visit my favorite jewelry store while in North Carolina. its called Light Years and its located in South Point Mall in Durham NC. if you follow me on instagram (@monroesteele) you have already seen the load of awesomeness i purchased there. they are the most unique jewelry i've ever found even better than here in New York City. i wish i knew who they wholesale from because i'd go insane! i had such a great time visiting my home town for the holidays! i am on a serious camouflage kick right now. you will see soon enough lol.

the white dress

this is one of my favorite summer dresses that I picked up years ago at TJ Maxx.
The last time I wore it I was in Mexico in Playa Del Carmen. i miss it there. I had such an amazing time and something about the weather there really agreed with my skin and hair. lol.
anywho on my visit home to North Carolina last weekend I took these photos out by a lake near my moms house. did you catch the photo of my moms christmas tree on instagram. Yes...she still has her tree up. damn shame. lol.

Dress: Unknown | Belt: Forever 21 | Necklace: Unknown Brand via Loehmanns
Earrings: Light Years | Shoes: L.A.M.B. Morisa

i had such a great time at home with my family. it's been a good while since I've seen them. while at home i did a lot of shopping and eating. i also saw the movie Snow White and the Huntsman as well as Battleship. I liked them both. I also liked paying only 7 bucks to see them versus the 13 bucks in NYC. so back to this outfit...i picked up this necklace a few weeks ago and am currently in love with it as well as my $5 Forever 21 belt! Fashion STEELE!
If you are looking for a similar white dress for summer check out this one and this one.
shout out to my cuzzo Royal for taking these flicks for me!

Actually my entire outfit and purse is thrifted except the shoes!

My grandma was sooooooooooooo surprised!

Southern Comfort

I'm super excited because yesterday I woke up in New York City...but this morning I woke up in North Carolina..and it feels damned good to be home. First stop was Bojangles...LOL. If you don't know what Bojangles is, it's a chicken fast food restuarant thats practically non existent in New York. They have the most delicious chicken and sweet tea. Speaking of sweet tea..hot diggity damn I must have been away a long time because the sugar in that tea almost killed me but I drank it and proceeded to urination station atleast 5 times during the night...ahhhhh it's good to be home.
Outfit
Top: H&M I wear this top so much lol see it worn differently HERE!!!!
Shorts: Thirfted vintage
Tights: American Apparel
Jacket: BCBGeneration via Nordstroms Rack
Boots: NYLA Sully Clog
Sunglasses: D&G..see them HERE!!!!
Bag: Thift..check out my store (its for sale HERE!!!!!)
This was my outfit for the day. In the morning it was a little breezy but I quickly had to take off this jacket and tights when the weather hit 70 degrees. I love this great new cropped jacket by BCBG with enormo shoulder pads that I can see out of the corner of my eyes when I wear it. It was such a fashion STEELE! Got it at my favorite spot Nordstroms Rack! I'm loving the weather here. Tonight I'm attending my Grandma's 60th Birthday...and can you guess which dress I will wear??? Stay tuned!

So what is your favorite comfort food?????
