Yes...we all drooled a little over Olivia Popes White Burberry Trench. Yes...it's just a coat. But I'll be damned if she didn't look fabulous in it and single handedly revived the white trench. This style of coat has actually been on the runways for most of the the last 4 Fall Runway Seasons. And some of the best streetstyle stars and televison scarletts have been rocking the trench from Kim Kardashians Paris Excursions to super blogger Miraslava Duma. I will be ordering the super long camel colored trench from ASOS asap and probably the grey one too.

LuLu's: a wedge sneaker love story

i'll admit i was the first to be like..really world?... wedged sneakers???

and it wasn't until i tried on this pair that something inside me clicked. the cynic side of me said...

"if this is what a wedged sneaker feels like...than I'll take two pair damnit!"

i am a through and through heel kinda girl. but wedged sneakers have indeed changed my life. i can look chic and really and honestly be comfortable at the same time. instead of going to the grocery store in my dreadful uggs and sweatpants...i go in my wedged sneakers and sweatpants. and instantly im all the more chic...even my sweatpants rock! so when i teamed up with Lulu's to do another series of my favorite things, these amazing wedge sneakers were the first items in my cart!

these wedge sneakers are super comfortable and stylish not to mention they are less than $35! if that aint a fashion STEELE i dont know what is! this outfit is super basic but its one of my favorite looks that I've ever photographed. i think the glasses really set it off. i like it because i look different. its a nice change of pace. funny how the simplest of outfits turn out to be your favorite. maxi dresses are a perfect transition piece from Summer to Fall too.

the darker the lipstick...

im still feeling my way through this dark lipstick phase of mine. once when i wore black nail polish a guy i was dating told me it weirded him out, like im a witch or something. i promptly told him that its a good thing he didn't have to wear it! i love black nail polish and im loving this very dark purple lipstick. it almost looks black. the darker the lipstick....the better. atleast for now. dont get it twisted i still love my very bright red lipstain but this is a close second for the Fall/Winter season.

here returns the pencil skirt. i swear i wear this skirt like twice a week. the perfect mixture of sophistication yet sexxxxxxy *in my beyonce voice*.

i actually wore this outfit on a night out with the girls in Harlem. We went to Red Rooster and then to Cove and then to Social Corner. It was fun but all the same i'd rather be home sometimes snuggled on my leather couch and watching Brown Sugar...my favorite movie. in fact...thats what im doing at this very moment while simultaneously drafting this blog post. i've also quickly burned through the 6 seasons of SATC followed by both movies. i have cabin fever bad.
everyone affected by the hurricane...you are on my mind.
and im doing well so thanks for all the love on twitter, instagram and all.

ox blood leather skirt

it seems that everything i've wanted wardrobe wise has magically appeared! i had been craving a white leather pencil skirt and this one popped up at Brooklyn Flea. then i wanted an ox blood leather pencil skirt and i found this baby at Nordstroms Rack. it wasn't on sale and I suspect it never will be but knew it would be a wardrobe staple and the fact that it was less that is was less than $100 didn't hurt either.

There....i've officially gotten everything I wanted off my Fall wish list!

ohhhh ox blood. from what im hearing is that its the new black. that may be so but i think

 black is the new black. what i like about this dark, rich, mysterious color is that it can almost be a neutral. i paired it with denim but it could easily work with white, black or even another red toned top. have you ever reached a point where you don't want anything clothing wise? this usually happens to me after i go on a spending spree. i look in my closet and say..there...im done. and i literally dont shop for months. i am in that stage right now. there is nothing that i really really want. i think the next thing i buy will be a Macbook Pro and im getting that for myself for Christmas. i guess its a good thing im feeling this way...i can finally start saving!

crown and glory

with the cooler weather comes...bad hair days.

days when your hair just wont even think about cooperating and days when its so windy there is no possible style that can withstand the sheer force of air. thus...i reintroduce my trusty bowler hat.

Fall Trends Obsessions

i have two new obsessions....cargo jackets/vests and ox blood colored anything.

i admit i am very persuaded by the Fall trends. i can't help myself. after flipping through September and October issues of Elle, Marie Claire, Lucky and Glamour, all i crave is deep burgundys and reds in my wardrobe. i foresee that my Fall and Winter will be full of blacks, greys and reds with pops of mint, forest green and whites. i snatched up this awesome French Connection Jacket from Loehmanns. When I saw it i knew immediately that it can be paired with skinny jeans, pencils skirts and just about anything else I have. its best to invest in pieces that can be worn with anything and that you know you will wear on a regular basis.

im so sad that summer is over but i finally get to wear all my favorite boots and jackets which makes me happy. this is another spin on my Fall Uniform which consist of a jacket and skirt like this post from last week. its also a similar color concept. i really have to force myself not to buy any more burgundy and red pieces. lol.
ps...im seriously considering cutting my hair again...like this or this.
